Featuring Charan Tej Naik

What are you currently doing (job/study)? your interests?

I have just finished my college and started working as a Research coordinator.

When & How  did you  get started  CTC?

When I moved to Chennai back in 2011, I came across CTC website, when I was searching for some outdoor activities. I was following CTC for 3 years, before i took the first step towards LIFE, in February 2015. Initially i started off with swimming at Ottiyambakkam, and a few weeks later went on do a moderate trek at Nagala.

What are the activities of  CTC that  you are involved in?

I take part in majority of the activities by CTC,u can see me regularly in the monthly hill runs,10x10 series and occasionally at the quarry.apart from running, once in a while I take part in the cleanups, treks and also volunteer in few CTC events.

What will you say has been your biggest achievement when it comes along with  CTC?

From a stage where i considered, running more than 400 mtrs was some serious long distance running - to finishing a 350km self supported ultra.(Western Ghats 500) last December, 50kms at Malnad Ultra and a couple of marathons.

Share any one of the CTC Best moments you had !

Every moment with the CTC gang is the best!!

1) The day when we were crossing "The great barrier" to reach Tilicho lake in the Annapurna circuit.

2) Running the Last stretch of  30kms in kerala, on the last day of our self supported 350k run in the westernghats.

3) Camping at Kodai (the best camping site till date.) and the leech bites.

How do you manage your work life balance?

I just started working, so may be in a couple of weeks i can figure out the answer. As of now apart from the 8 working hours, i try to make the most out of every minute.

How has your life changed after joining this CTC ?

Yeah, life has totally changed.I have adapted to the well disciplined way of life.Giving back to the society, environmental conservation a bit health consciousness is all that i have learnt from CTC.

Share some of your cycling  that you did in the CTC?

I have not cycled much, except a few rides like, a 200k ride to pondy,Weekend cycling to the pulicat Island.

We have seen you in leading many of volunteering and how does this helps you outside CTC ?

CTC is an amazing platform for exploring new thing. You acquire some organizing and team management skills, you get to learn new things when you work as a team with people from different backgrounds.
