About Organic Farmers Market
The Organic Farmers Market, a collective initiative by a group of organic farming enthusiasts, will set up a stall displaying various products / organic snacks / safe foods.
Our goal is to:
Ø Guarantee consistent, continuous availability of safe food to all
Ø Ensure fair pricing of organic products at farmer and consumer end
Ø Protect the livelihoods of organic farmers
Ø Spread awareness on safe food and current agricultural practices/malpractices
Ø Transparency and traceability
Our group has opened 14 organic outlets across Chennai; which is being used to bridge the urban-rural, demand-supply gap. The outlets currently stock and sell millets, traditional rice, pulses, spices, whole grain flours, dry fruits, nuts and sweeteners. Greens,vegetables and fruits will be available soon.

A not-for-profit initiative that brings together Rain-fed Desi Cotton Farmers, Skilled Khadi Spinners, Master Weavers, Dyers who specialise in Natural Colors along with other Skilled Artisans such as Embroiders, Hand Block Printers, etc in creating some of the most beautiful and eco-friendly garments that our country has ever known in this day and age.
All our skilled artisans were in dire need of support despite possessing skills that not many nowadays have and also for the fact that these are the very skills that are dying to the sudden outburst of technology especially after independence and more so in the last couple of decades.
Right at the nick of time a bunch of likeminded friends had decided to step in and make a difference by bringing a niche clothing line purely to empower our artisans by making sure they are all paid well enough for rendering their skills.
While the production was in progress, TÜLA had identified a self-help group who we trained to be tailors and had decided to put to use their skills and get the uncut fabric tailored into contemporary styles and standard sizes for men, women and children. And as a result of this, we now have one of the most eco-friendly garments and perhaps the lightest too.
