India Clean Sweep - an annual event organized by Chennai Trekking Club. Started in 2014, last year 12 different cities spread all over SouthIndia and Himalayas participated various environmental cleaning cum conservation activities.
This year also we are organising across many Cities. Several cleaning activities are planned on June 18th in these cities.
We will be introducing the teams behind these activities on a periodic basis.

The Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) is an environmental conservation group based out of Chennai,
Hyderabad, Puducherry , Coimbatore etc which focuses on wildlife conservation and habitat restoration. Started in 2007 and registered in 2011, the organisation is known for its work in cleaning and scientific restoration of lakes in India for biodiversity.The organisation and its efforts grew from that one pond in Chennai to include over 39 lakes and 48 ponds in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Pondicherry and Gujarat in the last 10 years (2007 to 2017)

Nellai Nature Club a group formed by nature loving souls of Nellai. The club arranged regular Cycling trips, Bird watching, Photography, Trekking & Tree Plantation activities. The passionate team was part of India Clean Sweep 2014 where they cleaned up river Thamirabarani. This year the same passionate team is planning to cleanup Papanasam along with EFI which already in to 4 ponds in the district.
