CTC's Green Day is an annual event organized by Chennai Trekking Club across various cities to promote green cover in major cities.
This year its planned on August 30.
Along with Chennai its planned in Pondicherry, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Dharmapuri.
Its time to introduce the participating cities and the teams which will be coordinating the event at each cities.

Maram Madurai - started on 30 June 2014, this is a team of young vibrant students doing social activities such as Tree plantation, Organic farming, Cleanup of several lakes, ponds,.. , Water conservation activities, Awareness campaigns. The effort put by the team in making Madurai a better place was fantastic. Maram Madurai took part in CTC Green day 2014 and our annual India Clean Sweep event as well.

Pondicherry

In Pondicherry the event will be organized CTC members & volunteers atPondicherry. Pondicherry team have planted over 1000 saplings and have been maintaining them all for past 3 years at various locations. This year as part of Green day 2015 our volunteers will be planting 50 saplings at Krishna Nagar and Moola kulam

Nellai Nature Club a group formed by nature loving souls of Nellai. This club arranges regular Cycling trips, Bird watching, Photography, Trekking & Tree Plantation activities. The passionate team was part of CTC Green Day 2014 as well and also India Clean Sweep 2015, where they cleaned up river Thamirabarani. This year the same passionate team is planning to plant 50 Saplings in Nellai as part of Green Day 2015.
