MEECONS along with CitYzen (CSR arm of Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd) organized “Revamp Vizag – I”- as a part of Chennai Trekking Club's India Clean Sweep II. Cleaning activities were done in eight other cities in South India including Pondicherry, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur and Tuticorin.
As a part of Revamp Vizag I, members of MEECONS, CitYzen, students of Andhra Medical College, students from other colleges, sanitation staff and general public cleaned parts of KGH and AMC. A total of nearly 80 people participated in the event. They planted 100 trees in KGH and AMC and put up cleanliness awareness posters in various wards of KGH. All the trees were watered after the plantation. Few more saplings were planted near AMC Office, Modern Mortuary Ward, AMC Library and Super Speciality Building.
Member of Parliament Dr. Kambhampati Hari Babu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Swach Bharath ambassadors Prof. V Balamohan Das and Mr. Murali Krishna Gannamani (MD and CEO of Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd) were also present, along with Ms. Vani Gannamani Director of CitYzen. Dr. P V Sudhakar of KGH was with his team during the activities in KGH.

Phoenix IT Solutions Ltd. was the chief sponsor of the event. Mr. G S S N Raju of GSR Trust donated all the saplings that were planted during the event. VVR Associates and Varun Medicals were the co-sponsors for the event.
Gloves, nose masks, sticks and gunny bags were given to the volunteers to do the cleaning activity. A team of sanitation people from GVMC also joined the event at KGH. The event was entirely a green event including the banner which was a paper banner instead of flex.
