The Battle of the Beaches has begun - 1900 troops have been gathered at the gates of Chennai's largest Coastal Cleanup.

Individual volunteers - 550

We received 550 registrations at our 11 respective assembly points in the city.  Implicitly participating groups - Cognizant, Hexaware, AID India, Inner Wheel Club, HCL (putting up posters, sending mailers). Volunteers of Chennai's Largest Coastal Cleanup--Gear Up!!! Expect a mail next week on details on your assembly points and the cleanup operation!!! Let us rock Chennai like never before!

Several companies, colleges, schools, non-profit groups and orphanages are joining hands as separate groups. We welcome more groups to join hands with us,
The battlefield

Let's take a closer look at how the troops are currently deployed onto the battlefield. Slight changes in deployment are likely in the next 2 weeks as more soldiers sign up.


Awareness - Spreading the word

Media Update: Several newspapers (both mainstream and local area), radio stations, and television channels have been contacted. Big FM is our official radio partner.  From Jan 30th onwards, they will be promoting us through the day with special promos and RJ mentions. Please take the time to hear and support Big FM during this period!

Several newspapers will be covering us both before and after the cleanup. Watch out for Deccan Chronicle, Hindu, Times of India, Dinamalar as well as your area newspapers. Send us clippings when you read a story on this cleanup!
Television channels like NDTV Hindu, NEWSX, NDTV and Puthiyathalamarai would be covering us on the day of the event and we are in the process of finalizing our television partner!!!
