We, the CTCians planned to visit Saranalayam Children’s Home pretty early in the
evening by 5 PM..... But we were late by 40 minutes.....
The moment we entered the home, we could witness the excitement
and feeling of longingness and eagerness for our arrival amidst the children.....
They volunteered to wish all of us Merry Christmas in an unbiased way....
the new comers were welcomed with the same zeal like regular visitors....
thus the ice breaking was done by the children for few of us in an effortless manner....
Once all of us assembled in the ground, the
children were put into two groups...Yes.....your guess is correct.......we were
about to play the game” Dog and Bone” to bring the vibrancy in them..... Few
volunteers joined the teams as participants along with the kids....there was a
corrupted referee to give scores and another corrupted assistant referee to
call out numbers......the best part was that the kids were not able to remember
their number and happened to come forward for other numbers....still, the game
went on well.....there were cheer leaders (obviously other CTCians) on both
sides.....we the cheer leaders were more excited that we were cheering both the
teams equally......the game got over with the arrival of our favorite star,
Santa Claus......
The moment Santa appeared before the kids, there
was an immediate attack by the kids (in a harmless manner....)It was very much
like how our cricketers celebrate the success by bombarding on each other)
.....Luckily our Santa was relieved from the kids soon after that insisting
that he will give gifts if all of them organize themselves in line..... for a
while, the kids were carried away with their own gifts....and so we did not
want disturb them immediately....then the care taker of Saranalayam Children’s
Home shared few of his thoughts with us....He said that never in the past
fifteen years, he had witnessed such a grand celebration for
Christmas......he thanked all our CTCians for making their day....but its
actually the other way round which he did not realize......we had to be
greatful to those kids for making our day more pleasant.....Later, Cake cutting
by Santa along with another kid who happened to share his birthday as
well on the same day......
Next was the rocking moment of the day........Thankful
to one of our volunteer who had such wonderful speakers in his vehicle, we
started the music.....that was the ultimate thing of the day... Such a fabulous
performance was delivered by the kids.....the real astonishing factor is the
grace and style that they carried on themselves with hardly any professional
learning..... The timidness which was in few of our volunteers soon disappeared
and all of us joined in the dance floor.....
When we were just about to leave, I personally
happened to experience the amazing moment of the day. A cute kid around 5 yrs
age if am not wrong, suddenly came in front of me with a stump kind of stuff
and said, “I am Bodhidharman”.....I was just taken aback for a while....she
continued to give a posture exactly how Actor Surya did in the movie...I did
help her to place the stump on the earth.... I acknowledged to her by bowing
down as a sincere disciple and asked her to teach me....the best part was
that she was able to show some karate postures to my amazement........I did
replicate it...I was asked to practice and show her the steps during the next
visit.....I nodded with wholehearted feel.....
Another exhilarating unusual moment was when we
CTCians were gifted.....A girl named Dhivya gave us a wonderful Drawing of
Santa with perfect shadings and colours....with CTC being tagged on top...
we really wish that we could bring all the hidden talents to limelight
and make difference in their lives...we returned it back to them to have it as
a remembrance of ours....
It was really heart breaking when we happened to notice that it
was lateL.....the couple of
hours had passed by very rapidly that none of us were willing to leave....few
things such as dinner time for kids and our own personal commitments which
popped up in mind made us to leave the place with a heavy heart.....Our
presence did make a huge impact in such a smaller span of time in all of
us....the love of children towards us was very true and genuine unlike what we
come across in our daily lives... In their expression of unbiased love and care
they had taken an adult stand and we had gone back to our childhood
state.....It was really a different world which every one should experience at
least once in their life time......

And we finished it in our CTC style by taking a group pic.
I personally thank everyone for making the day soo beautiful and hope to see you all in future Social Outings.
