Last weekend on Oct 9-10, 21 trekkers from CTC went to the beautiful Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and Tadianamol peak.
The participants from chennai met up in koyambedu on friday evening and left for bangalore. In bangalore we met up at KFC, Majestic bus stand and had the left over chicken in the KFC at night 11 45pm. We had booked a van to take us to srimangala. After getting the permission, we started the trek in Brahmagiri armed with snuff, lime, salt and leech socks. We finished the trek of almost 15 kms and came back to the base by 5 pm.
Then we reached kakabe to climb the Tadiyanamol Peak. It was late night. So we camped at the base. It was superb weather. Though it was cold, the sky was full of stars. The next day, we started by 7:30 am and then on it was just climbing to reach the 1742m peak. Awesome views everywhere.
We reached a running stream and made Maggi as brunch with sugarless black tea and some had milk powder mixed with cold water.
Then on it was a slow climb to the peak. After few photo shoots on the top, we raced back down as it was getting late for Chennai guys. We started by 4 pm and reached Bangalore at 1:30pm where most of the time was taken by the flat tyre. That was when Herbert started dancing. After few night-trucking to majestic bus stand, shanthi nagar bus stand and satellite bus stand, we finally got a bus to vellore and them changed a bus back to Chennai. The views of Brahmagiri and Tadiyanamol is still in the minds of the ppl who drove their laziness away and came for the trek.
Special thanks goes to Ramjan( my co-organizer) and also to Herbert. This trek wouldn't have been possible without few suggestions from Balaji Sesh. The complete write up of the trek will be up in the CTC website with in a week.
Thanks to Peter for the inspiration.
