Ladakh bike trip, June 25-July 11, 2010

Most beautiful and challenging trip has come to an end. Still my soul is wandering high in Himalayas and karakoram ranges. I could hear the river running on the side, Birds chirping up in the blue sky, yaks on the road, cute little ladakis tapping our hands.

13 tough souls taken up this trip for 17 days. Its really most memorable ride for all of us.
Achieved all the high passes on the circuit.
Marsimik La –Over 5,700 metres (The Highest Pass, But not motorable)
Kardung La - 5,602 m (18,380 ft ) (Worlds highest motorable Pass)
Chang La- 5328 (Second Highest pass)
Taglang La - 5,360 m (Third Highest pass)

Distance- Almost Entire Kashmir and ladakh approx 2500 kms.
Driving Terrain - Snow, Wind, Rain, Sand Dunes, Dirt track, Ice Track, Thar road, water streams.
Lakes: World famous Pangang Tso and Tso Kar lakes.
Difficulties – Riots in Kashmir, Steep offroading to marsimik la. Bad weather ie wind nd snow while climbing changla and marsmik la. Oxygen drop at marsimik la. Worst roads on nubra-pangong stretch. Huge baggages in no mans land. Freezing temp @ many places. Also big stream running on the road.
Scenic Stretches: Almost All, Nothing to be missed out from Snow, rivers and sand dunes.
